Dump cakes are great for a treat (they are not healthy, but….. ). They are super easy and quick to put together (think: kids cooking) and everyone loves them.
Hot out of the oven, top scoops with some vanilla ice cream and watch it melt and mingle with the cherry/pineapple juices… if you can wait that long 🙂
Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake

Ingredients
- 1 bag (16 oz) frozen pineapple chunks
- 1 can (21 oz) lite cherry pie filling
- 1 box (15.5 oz) white cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- In a 9 x 13″ pan, dump the frozen pineapple and the cherry pie filling. Stir to combine and spread evenily on the bottom of the dish.
- Pour *dry* cake mis on the fruit and smooth with the back of a spoon to cover all of the fruit.
- Pour the melted butter over the dry cake mix (it will nto cover all of the cake mix, that is fine). You do not need to mix the butter in, just leave it as is.
- Bake for 30-45 minutes or until bubbly and browned.
- Serve hot or room temp with ice cream or whipped cream.
